EWTA-2 provides the Command with a versatile tool to assess the Microwave environment, and a summary of the key features and operational capabilities of the system include:
Warner Clearance. Prior to raising additional masts the Command can determine counter detection probabilities posed by increasing their own Radar Cross Section (RCS). Changing the mast state value in the system will cause the NSS of all displayed emitters to be recalculated.
Prediction: Prediction mode provides the Command with the ability to advance emitters in time. When enabled, the selected emitters NSS and bearing will be recalculated based on its current Signal Strength Rate and Bearing Rate for the entered time period. This feature will aid in vessel manoeuvring and platform placement.
Search Patterns: By enabling the History Points feature the Command can view up to 120 minutes of an emitters history on the polar display, enabling an analysis of the platforms search pattern.
Estimated Range: EWTA-2 computes the theoretical range of an emitter based on the received powers, signal strength and classification along with an error factor. These ranges can be used to aid in the refinement of TMA solutions produced using ESM contact data.
Graphical Interface: A graphical representation for Command overview of EW environment to maintain submarine covertness as well as providing a specialist tool for the submarine EW operators with functionality to enhance the CCS ESM Early Warning capability
ESM Database: EWTA-2 provides tools to upload/download and edit ESM databases.
Early Warning: Alerts and Warnings based on an emitters signal strength not a predefined tactical significance.
Data logging: Full logging capabilities of all emitter reports, which may be reviewed and manipulated with third party software without depot support.
Flexibility in Calculation of NSS: EWTA-2 provides tools to adjust values which effect the calculation of DL to compensate for drops in ESM system sensitivity or increase in gain due to defects which cannot be rectified under operational conditions.
